Beirut Twestival 2011 Supports Breast Cancer Awareness
Twestival is the twitter community’s way of giving back to social organizations through raising awareness, fund raising, and mobilizing resources. It’s happened twice in Beirut and this year is its third edition. The community is organizing a dinner on Thursday, March 24 in Tawlet with some amazing local dishes and all proceeds go to Faire Face, an organization that promotes awareness about breast cancer, offers free mammograms, as well as support groups for women fighting cancer.
So support the cause by doing one of the following:
- Promote the event on twitter using the #TwestivalBeirut hashtag. Promote it on Facebook too and link to the event page.
- Donate to Faire Face.
- Buy a ticket and come to the dinner. Yum. Tweeps can get tickets for $35 and non-tweeps for $50. It’s expensive, but it’s a great way of contributing. Consider it your night out for the week.
- Encourage women to visit Faire Face and get tested for breast cancer. Early detection saves lives. And get tested yourself too!
- Promote the cause by dedicating a blog post to the topic of breast cancer awareness to help inform your community about the risks, the check-ups, and break the taboos surrounding it.
