ما هو هذا المخيم؟

تنظم حملة “إسترجعي التكنولوجيا” مخيم ل٢٥ فتاة في لبنان  خلال شهر تموز المقبل (من ٨ و حتى ١٤).  سوف تدربك خلاله شابات خبيرات على المهارات التالية:

• إنشاء مدونة  لتكتبي و تعبري من خلالها عن نفسك و تمارسي الإعلام الشعبي

• إستخدام المواقع الإجتماعية مثل الفايسبوك والتويتر لنشر معلومات مفيدة

• تصوير فيديو على كاميرتك أو جوالك الخاص و تحميله على موقع اليوتيوب

• إلتقاط صور فوتوغرافية رائعة

• البحث عن معلومات على شبكة الإنترنت

• إختيار إختصاص جامعي له علاقة بالتكنولوجيا

• تصفح  الإنترنت واستخدامه بأمان

• كل ما يتعلق بلغات الكمبيوتر، ببرامج المصدر المفتوح، المشاع الإبداعي و أكثر من هذا !

 

لمن يتوجه المخيم؟

يمكن أن تشارك في المخيم كل فتاة :

• يتراوح عمرها بين ال ١٥ و ١٩ سنة.

• لديها إلمام بأساسيات إستخدام جهاز  الكمبيوتر و شبكة الإنترنت

• ترغب باكتساب مهارات جديدة متعلقة بالتكنولوجيا

 

متى و أين؟

سوف نغادر بيروت  نهار الجمعة الواقع في ٨ تموز عند الساعة الثا منة صباحا  و نعود نهار الخميس الواقع في  ١٤ عند السادسة مساء. سوف نخيم في منطقة بيئية جميلة في تعنايل، و يشمل البرنامج الكثير من الرياضة والألعاب الإجتماعية وطبعا التدريب الإلكتروني

 

كم يكلف؟

على قدر إمكانياتك!! نحن نقوم بجمع التبرعات لتغطية تكاليف المخيم، لذلك يمكنك أن تدفعي أي مبلغ  بين ال 10 و المئتي دولارا لتغطي تكاليفك.

Are you a girl who loves technology? Interested in computers? Want to spend an amazing week this summer learning all about useful digital skills? Then join our summer Girl Geek Camp!

What Is It?

Take Back the Tech are organizing a geek camp for 25 girls this July 8-14, 2011 in Lebanon. You will learn from experienced young women how to:

  • Create a blog, write and express yourself, and do citizen journalism
  • Use social networks like Facebook and Twitter to spread useful information
  • Film a video on your camera or mobile phone, edit it, and upload it to YouTube
  • Take great photographs
  • Do research online
  • Pick a university major related to technology
  • Browse and use the internet securely
  • + all about computer languages, open-source, creative commons, and lots more!

Who Is It For?

The camp is open to all girls who are:

  • Between 15 and 19 years old
  • Have some basic experience in using computers and the Internet
  • Interested in gaining more technology skills

When and Where?

We will leave Beirut in a bus on Monday, July 8 at 9am and return to Beirut on Sunday, July 14 at 6pm. We will be camping in the beautiful EcoLodge in Taanayel and the program will include lots of sports, games, social activities as well as – of course – the technology training sessions.

How Much Does It Cost?

As much as you can pay! We are raising funds to cover the camp expenses, so you can pay anything between $10 and $200 to cover your costs, whatever you can afford.

Join us this Saturday, October 30, from 12pm – 2pm at Nasawiya in Achrafieh for some Photography 101 Basics with Abir G. She will guide us through camera main functions and shooting modes. Bring your camera — any digital camera will do. The workshop is free and we have complimentary coffee and tea.

If you are already a great photographer, you can still come along and share your skills and tips with the less fortunate of us.

The objective is for women techies to meet up, exchange skills and ideas, discuss collaborations, talk about tech from a gender perspective, and network. Our member Nadine Moawad met with Jessica Dheere from SMEX last week and proposed that our new Take Back the Tech / Arabia program which we launched at Nasawiya two weeks ago partner up with the organizers to support young women using technology for social change.

The agenda of the meeting is very flexible. Participants will be proposing different workshops they’d like to give / receive. And together, we can definitely make sure it’s a great empowering feminist meeting. You can read more here and email info@arabtechies.net to participate. The organizers are sponsoring 30 female participants from across the Arab world. Feel free to contact us too, if you have any questions or suggestions.

The main criteria are:

  • Woman
  • Techie (i.e. works with technology, not only internet technology but also communications, engineering, software, hardware, etc.)
  • Arab
  • Interested in the intersection of gender and tech
  • Able to come to Lebanon from May 11 till May 15

How to Blog? And Then?” on Saturday, 10 April 2010.

Run by software developer and blogger Liliane Assaf, the workshop will take place between 11:00 AM and 1:oo PM at our office in Mar Mikhael (call 01-447192 for directions).

Assaf, who’s been blogging since July 2006 at Independence ’05: Thoughts and Opinions from Beirut, will show participants how to set up a blog, explain the different forms of blogging, and will give tips on how to maintain and market a blog using social media.

The workshop is free of charge. Places are limited to 15. To register, please email farah[at]nasawiya.org with a little bit about you. Priority goes to young women and young activists of both or neither gender.
